Creating a Keyword

The first step is to create a Keyword. A Keyword is a unique word that represents your purpose or brand. For opt-in purposes, this is the word your audience will text to your Textedly number to join your text list. For imports, think of the Keyword as a file system, helping you organize different groups.

Note: Keywords cannot be changed once created, so be sure to choose carefully. A Keyword can be up to 20 characters long, using letters or numbers, but no spaces are allowed.

Setting Message Frequency

After entering your desired Keyword, you’ll be asked, "How many messages per month can your subscribers expect to receive?" Enter the number of messages you plan to send each month.

Optional Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

You can also include links to your company’s terms of service and privacy policy if you want your contacts to receive this information upon opting in.

Creating a Welcome Message

Finally, you’ll create an opt-in welcome message. This is the first text message your subscribers will receive upon texting your Keyword to your designated phone number. You can update this welcome message anytime, but remember it only sends to contacts who opt in by texting your Keyword, not to those you manually upload.

What if I Need More Keywords?

No problem! You can always purchase additional Keywords with any plan without needing to upgrade. Extra Keywords cost $5 per month each.

To buy additional Keywords, click "Add New Keyword" in the top right corner of the Keywords page, and follow the prompts to complete your purchase.
