Managing your contacts efficiently is key to keeping your Textedly contacts organized. Here's a quick guide on how to delete, unsubscribe, block, archive, and transfer contacts to a new keyword in bulk:
1. Delete Contacts:
Deleting a contact will fully remove them from your contacts page, as if they were never added. You can re-add a deleted user at any time, as long as they didn't opt out by texting in Stop to your messaging.
To delete multiple contacts at once, select the contacts you want to remove by checking the box next to their name. You can select an entire page of contacts by checking the box next to mobile phone above the contact entries.
Then, click the Actions drop-down in the top-right corner of your screen and select the Delete option.
2. Unsubscribe Contacts:
Unsubscribing a contact will mark them as unsubscribed and you will not be able to message them while in unsubscribed status.
To unsubscribe multiple contacts at once, select the contacts you want to unsubscribe by checking the box next to their name. You can select an entire page of contacts by checking the box next to mobile phone above the contact entries.
Then, click the Actions drop-down in the top-right corner of your screen and select the Unsubscribe option.
3. Archiving Contacts
Archiving a contact keeps them in your address book, but they are not associated with any keywords. You can still send and receive 1:1 messages with archived contacts, but they will not be included in bulk messages. To take them out of an archived state, simply transfer the archived contacts back into a keyword.
To Archive multiple contacts at once, select the contacts you want to archive by checking the box next to their name. You can select an entire page of contacts by checking the box next to mobile phone above the contact entries.
Then, click the Actions drop-down in the top-right corner of your screen and select the Archive option.
What is the difference between Deleting a contact, Unsubscribing a contact, and Archiving a contact?
Deleting a contact completely removes them from your contacts page, as if they were never added. Unsubscribing a contact keeps the contact entry in your contacts page in unsubscribed status, meaning you cannot message them from your account. Archiving a contact keeps them on in your address book, but they are not-associated with any keywords.
3. Resubscribe Contacts:
If a contact was accidentally unsubscribed, you can resubscribe them simply by clicking on the unsubscribed contact, and then choose the Resubscribe option from the Actions drop-down. To do this in bulk, simply go to the filters bar on the contacts page and filter by Status > Unsubscribed. You can then select the unsubscribed contacts and resubscribe them in bulk.
Note: If the contact unsubscribed themselves by texting "STOP", you cannot resubscribe them. They need to text "UNSTOP" followed by your keyword name to your Textedly number in two separate messages to resubscribe themselves.
4. Transfer Contacts to a New Keyword:
To transfer a contact to a different keyword, select the contacts you wish to move by checking the box next to their name.
Then, from the Actions drop-down, select the Change Keyword option.
5. Block a Contact:
Blocking a contact means you will not be able to receive any messages from this contact and you will not be able to message them.
To block a contact, select the contact you wish to move by checking the box next to their name.
Then, from the Actions drop-down, select the Block option.
By using these tools, you can keep your contact list current and organized for efficient and effective mass texting.
